Pompeii, one of the best day trips from Rome
The Ruins of Pompeii are undoubtedly one of the most visited and well-known places of interest in Italy and worldwide.
In All Days Travel I have often spoken of my visits to Pompeii, so I recommend this link to learn more.
I put Pompeii among the 5 best day trips from Rome for two reasons: the first is undoubtedly the incredible charm which is suffered by visiting an ancient Roman city, perfectly preserved, literally buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 BC. The second reason is the very small distance from Rome. In fact, you can reach Pompeii from Rome by car, by train, by bus for up to 4 hours, but by car and by train takes two hours.

5 best day trips from Rome to the north. A walk in Florence!
The charm of Florence is undeniable. I have described all day trips to the south of Rome for several reasons: they are closer destinations, most popular, they all are available in the summer and they are less expensive. Despite this, it is impossible not to include Florence among the best day trips from Rome.
The Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, the Campanile by Giotto, the Uffizi Gallery, the Basilica of Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio and Signoria Square are very famous places and extremely fascinating. So about two hours by train or three hours by car to reach the city of Florence will be well rewarded.
I tell you right away that this is the most expensive excursion from Rome, but I’m sure it’s worth it. For Florence, it might be done the same speech in Naples, is visiting this city in a single day a good idea? Is not enough? What do you think?!
