It’s possible to organize a Rome to Naples day trip in several ways: by car, by train, by bus, with an organized group, with a guide. How should we organize it? Much will depend on your way to travel and tour company.
Objectively, I can tell you that the best way to make a Rome to Naples day trip is by car, especially if you are a group of 4-5 people, in fact, in this way you will not have time constraints, you will be able to easily move in the city and with a little bit of sacrifice you will be able to see Pompeii.

It’s almost impossible to go wrong road because there are no special curves or mountain roads. My advice is to park your car in one of the garages in Piazza Garibaldi and move by underground.
